On the Saturday following Thanksgiving Day at 6:30 PM Allegany celebrates a "Christmas in Allegany". This year’s event will be held at the newly constructed Santa House located next to the Village of Allegany Municipal Building at 106 East Main Street Allegany, NY. Santa, Mrs. Claus and some elves arrive to the event on a horse pulled wagon and children of all ages are given the opportunity to visit with Santa and receive a gift. Hot cocoa, hot cider and cookies are served. Donations from area businesses and residents cover the expense of this event. The new Collectable Ornament will be distributed to families attending the event and will be available for purchase by any interested person(s). This year’s collectable ornament will be a Christmas Tree.

2011 Collectable Christmas Tree Ornaments (Christmas Tree) and 2010 Collectable Christmas Tree Ornaments (Santa House) are still avaiable at the Village Clerks Office - Available to anyone interested in purchasing one ($5.00)

PLEASE HELP US ! - We are looking for anyone interested in donating towards the completion of our new Santa House (North Pole House). The building is being built by community volunteers and employees of area contractors. Materials and funding for materials for its construction have been generously donated by many area contractors, businesses and residents. In order to complete the project funding is still needed. Your donation is "Tax Deductable" and check's should be made out to the Cattaraugus Region Community Foundation CRCF and in the memo area make sure to put Allegany Beautification Fund. Checks can be sent to or dropped off at the Clerk's Office located in the Village of Allegany Municipal Building at 106 East Main Street.
