The Assessor is responsible for establishing assessments on all real property located within the Town and Village of Allegany. Assessments are based on a Uniform Percentage of market value established each March 1st. The Assessor is required by the Real Property Tax Law, Sections 301 & 305 to keep the assessments uniform.
January 1 through March 1: Exemption Application Time Frame
March 1: Deadline for exemption applications; Taxable Status Date
May 1: Tentative Tax Roll Filed
4th Tuesday in May: Board of Assessment Review Meets
July 1: Final Tax Roll Filed

All exemptions have to filed by March 1st of each year for the Town and Village of Allegany.
