Meeting Times

The Town of Allegany Board of Fire Commissioners meet the Second Thursday of each month at 7:00 PM. Meetings are held at the Allegany Fire Department Commissioners Office, located on the second floor at 186 West Main Street Allegany, New York 14706.

Responsibilities:

The Town of Allegany Board of Fire Commissioners consists of a Chairman, a Vice Chairman, three other Board Members and an appointed Secretary Treasurer and as a group, represents the executive head of the Town Fire District. The Board acts as a unit and must function as a body. The Board of Fire Commissioners are responsible for the financial management of the Fire Department and for the supervision and care of buildings, apparatus and equipment used by the Fire Department.

Town of Allegany Board of Fire Commissioners Members serve a term of five years. Elections of members of the Town Board of Fire Commissioners are held annually on the second Tuesday in the month of December between the hours 6:00 PM and 9:00 PM at the Robert H. Livingston Community Center located at 188 West Main Street. One Member is elected to serve the board each year.
