Allegany is blessed with an excellent public school system and a private university, St. Bonaventure University located within its boundaries. Both play a prominent & central role in community life.

Our newly constructed and renovated public school system was ranked the best in Cattaraugus County in the Business First Annual School review in 2004 and has had consistently high graduation rates and test scores and small class size.
